Synergy, in conjunction with the United States Government and Department of Veteran Affairs is currently seeking an Psychologist for immediate appointment to the VA Medical Center located in Huntington, West Virginia.

Description
Engage in professional and scientific work that relates to behavior, capacities, traits, interests, and emotions. Psychologist work may include any one or a combination of the following: professional clinical services, research, education/training activities, clinical consultation, supervision, and administration. Psychologists also work with a wide range of patients using, refining, and developing new techniques in psycho diagnosis, assessment and evaluation, as well as psychotherapy, behavior modification, vocational evaluation, counseling, and job placement programs.

The medical center is a fully accredited 80-bed acute medical and surgical care facility offering primary and subspecialty outpatient care with over 700 employees and nearly 400 volunteers dedicated to serving our veteran population; Affiliated with the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University, Huntington, WV is a university town (Home of the Marshall University Thundering Herd) located on the banks of the Ohio River adjacent to Ohio and Kentucky offering many cultural and outdoor activities to enhance the enjoyment of all four seasons of the year with relaxed lifestyle and affordable living. Requirements
For positions within the VA health care system, Psychologist applicants must possess a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA). The specialty area of the degree must be consistent with the assignment for which the applicant is to be employed. The applicant must have successfully completed a professional psychology internship training program that has been accredited by APA. Also, a current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Psychologist in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia is required.
